Thank you for visiting my website!  My name is Hanna Vanderstoel, a mixed media artist and painter living in Fort Worth, Texas.  My husband, Maarten, and I own an art studio for children called Van Grow where we are trying our best to spark creativity into the hearts of the future generation.  We are passionate about children learning to use their imaginations and learning to think outside the box.  We feel strongly about the importance of teaching art, but even stronger about teaching children to be kind and compassionate people who can make good decisions with integrity and courage.  Van Grow is the place we would have wanted to it be when we were kids, and we strive to make it better each and every day.  One of my favorite quotes:

"You see things; and you say "why?".  But, I dream things that never were; and I say "why not?". - George Bernard Shaw

My paintings are all self-portraits in some form or another.  They are usually things I don't understand, but often a celebration of sorts as well.  We are currently in the process of adopting a child from Ethiopia and you can see that reflected in my current work.  I also adore vintage fabrics and notions and love to re-purpose clothing and accessories.  The other reoccurring theme in my artwork is dancers and I think that can only be explained as a reflection of every little girls' dream to point her toes and wear the fancy tutu.  Please visit my online shop at www.aworldinvented.etsy.com to purchase current items for sale.  And, thank you again for visiting!
